Although many of us are probably welcoming the imminent transition to cooler, more fall-like temperatures, parts of our area could "pay the price" today with an increasing threat of strong to severe thunderstorms, mainly this afternoon-evening (the threat level from the Storm Prediction Center is now up to Enhanced Risk...Level 3 out of 5...for parts of our coverage area). WOE IS ME! Some people tend to see the proverbial cup as being half empty. Others, of course, tend to be more optimistic and see that same cup as half full. However, I like King David's attitude toward life when he wrote in Psalm 23:5, 'My cup runs over.' If we stop and consider all the good that God has blessed us with, most would hopefully say that our cup runs over with God's goodness. It is relatively easy to fall into a self-pity 'Woe is me' mindset.

Business as usual at city commission meeting

At the start of the Stockton City Commission meeting held on Tuesday, September 19th, the commissioners approved the Consent Agenda, which included the Solomon Valley Manor gross payroll for $62,242.80, the Solomon Valley Manor warrants for $51,335.28, the City of Stockton warrants for $165,379.01, and the September 5th regular meeting minutes.
